When the weather is nice, the three brothers: Daniel, 3 years old, Emanuel, 4 years old and Claudiu, 5 years old, are always in the yard, playing in the sand or chasing each other. They live in a house that their father laboured to build. Whenever the opportunity arises, he goes abroad in order to work in agriculture or pick fruit and olives.
“Even though it’s very hard for both me and the children when he’s away at work, it’s the only way for us to go on. In the last years, we’ve managed to work on the house, to have a roof over our heads”, says Irina, the mother of the three children. Because their only toy is a kick scooter that they take turns on, the children have made up various games. They gather in a circle, around a basin and prepare different “recipes” from sand and stones that they then proudly present to their mother.
Most times, Daniel, Emanuel and Claudiu share the same things. The good things are saved for days when they go to kindergarten, the favourite place of older brothers, Emanuel and Claudiu. “Kindergarten is great, we colour and play with the other children”, says Claudiu happily. Daniel, the youngest child, is going to start kindergarten next year. He’s looking forward to getting to know the world that fascinates his older brothers so much. To discover colouring books, to learn songs and poems, to share and play with the other children in the village. There are many children like them. Help them!
